Eulogies, thumbs ups as Kingsley Maduforo & friends mark end of season novelty game in style

Rangers International FC midfielder, Kingsley Maduforo has expressed his delight at reconnecting with his old friends and well wishers in an end of season novelty game which he sponsored and held on Sunday, June 30th, 2024 at the Orji Town Primary School Field, Orji, Owerri North, Imo State.

Maduforo and his teammates at Rangers International FC helped the Flying Antelopes to their eighth league title this recently concluded season and the former Heartland FC and Sunshine Stars midfielder used the opportunity to rally his former teammates who are mostly playing for Prudent FC of Owerri and his friends in the Nigeria Premier Football League from Imo State for a novelty game to appreciate God for the feat.

Even though Kingsley Maduforo and Friends who were unable to have serious training sessions together before the game lost 3-1 to Prudent FC, who were more coordinated, Kingsley, popularly called Shiba was thankful to his friends for showing up at the end of the season’s novelty game.

“I am so glad to play with my old friends from where my football career began. I chose Prudent FC because most of the players there are my childhood teammates so I had to play against them with Kingsley Maduforo and friends to make it more thrilling,” a happy Maduforo told journalists.

“It is a great joy to play against your childhood friends and it is always a war because we know one another too well. We just keep on fighting because no one wants to lose.”

Sporting Lagos player, Emmanuel Chiemeka Nwokeji was full of praises for Kingsley Maduforo who organised the end of season novelty game and he confessed that Shiba has inspired them for them to go back to where they started with what he just did.

He said what Maduforo has done will help his old friends and young ones never to give up knowing that if they continue to work harder they can make it in football just like him.

“It is a novelty match and it is a welcome development that he went back to where he started from to try to encourage the young ones not to give up and that there is every possibility that there dream can become true,” Nwokeji, who also formerly played for Heartland FC stated.

“He has set the pace for us that where we grow up, we should try and go back there and make some positive inputs.

“I have known him from birth because we all grew up together from the academy.”

Kingsley Maduforo’s father, Chief Sir, Alex Maduforo said his son cultivated interest for football since he was still a toddler and that even though he tried to stop him then for him to face his education but that he never relented.

He prayed to God to guide his son in his football career and the grace to move his career to a recognised league in Europe and other parts of the world.

“Since the birth of Kingsley Maduforo, he has developed so much interest in football and today, you all have seen that he is still very much connected with his friends whom he started football with. It is our prayer that he goes places,” Maduforo Senior said.

“When he initially started, I did everything possible a man could do to stop him but because he insisted, I later allowed him. I am very happy and we are praying to Almighty God so that a club abroad would come and sign him.”
