Former Bayelsa United defender, Victory Beniangba has scored his first league goal for Egyptian club, El- Geish after he notched the only goal of the game in their 1-0 home win over Pharco FC on Monday night at the Gehaz El Reyada Stadium, al-Qāhirah, Cairo dasportstainment247.com can report.
Beniangba had stated before the game to yours sincerely that El-Geish would be gunning for the maximum points because of their precarious position on the league table.
He lived up to his pre-match hype when he blasted home the only goal in the 82nd minute to the delight of his teammates who celebrated the win over fifth-placed Pharco FC wildly.
Beniangba was introduced in the 60th minute in place of Ghanaian teammate, John Duku Antwi for his third substitute appearance for El-Geish since his loan move from Nigeria’s reigning Aiteo Cup Champions, Bayelsa United and the defender got the game’s only goal barely eight minutes to the end of the game.
“I am adjusting to life and coping with the new environment. We are going to go for a win because it is what we need at this time,” Beniangba had told dasportstainment247.com before the game.
The crucial win has lifted El-Geish to the 14th spot and out of the relegation zone with nine points from 10 games. They will face Al-Ittihad next, on Monday in another league tie.
