Heartland FC will aim to continue from where they stopped in their last home fixture with Akwa United when they square up with the revelation of the season thus far, Doma United today in a Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 15 tie in Gombe.

It is the first time both teams will be clashing whether official or non-competitive game and it promises to be a grudge affair at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe with the Naze Millionaires striving to add to the three points they have got from their away trips this season. They are up against the Savannah Tigers that have been almost flawless in their home matches.

Besides the goalless draw had at home against Bendel Insurance they have won their other five home matches by the margin of 1-0 mostly. They did beat Gombe United 3-0 in a local derby they were the away team and Bayelsa United 2-0. Those were the exceptions.

Despite in their second season in the topflight, Head coach, Akinade Onigbinde has turned Doma United into a winning machine. They are third on the league table with 25 points and have kept 11 clean sheets from 14 games.

Heartland FC have found their lost rhythm too since the coming of new Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye having won two games, drew one and lost two. They have been more businesslike in their approach to games too and playing with a set pattern and with more freedom too. They can hurt Doma United.

The Naze Millionaires will not only play against Doma United players but also a vociferous fans who have always turn up in large numbers to support them and making the Pantami Stadium carnival-like edifice. It no doubt becomes uncomfortable for visiting teams but the Owerri side have promised to give their all and not allow the stadium atmosphere to hinder them from performing.

Heartland FC Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye told the club’s media that the Owerri side would go in the hunt for points just like they did in the last game.

He said he believes with hard work and a bit of luck Heartland FC will not return from Gombe empty handed.

“We will go there and fight just like the way we did against Akwa United. It is doable for us to get a good result in Gombe,” Boboye told the club’s media.

“The team is not bad. The team started the season out of luck but if you watch them play you will see that they are not a bad team.”

Heartland FC, presently 18th on the log with 13 points will move out of the relegation zone if they secure a positive result in Gombe and other results go in their favour.

The game comes up today by 3pm at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.
