Delta 2022 National Sports Festival Day 4 Review: Team Imo improves to 6 Gold

The Imo State contingent to the Delta 2022 National Sports Festival continued to impress at the various games they are taking part in at the end of hostilities on Sunday which was the Day four after they amassed three gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals on that day alone.

In Para Table Tennis, Margaret Okoko and Akudo Okoroafor added one gold medal in the Team Event Class 2&3 to the one they won gold in the team event class 1 and 3. It was Margaret Okoko’s third gold medal of the competition.

In Darts event, Uzoma Njoku recorded the state’s first gold in the sport on Sunday to add to the bronze he won at the opening day of the event. Favour Okehie earlier won a bronze medal also in Dart.

Para Powerlifting events witnessed the trio of Nkemjika Iwuoha on (67kg), Amarachi Okonkwo (41kg),and Chimaobi Onwunali (59kg) winning a silver and two bronze medals respectively.

Oluwabamidele Joseph gave Team Imo second gold medal in the Golf event while Ugochukwu Oguike bagged a bronze medal in Judo.

Imo also had windfall of medals in Para Athletics. Joy Orimezie won a bronze in shot put class F 57, Tochi Nze with a bronze medal in Javelin while Chidinma Obilor repeated the same feat winning a bronze in shot put class F55.

At the end of Day 4 events in Asaba, Team Imo medal has thus far recorded six Gold, one Silver and 10 Bronze medals.
