.Hails Bauchi Governor’s impact on grassroots football as he clocks one year in Office
Bauchi Football Association Chairman, Patrick Pascal has hailed the significant process that football has made under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed as he marks his one year in office today.
Pascal said that he is in support of the concerted effort of the Bauchi State Government to make the state the hub of football development in the country and he disclosed that Bauchi FA as the custodians of football in the state is aligning themselves with the Governor to ensure he realises his objectives.
The former Super Eagles player pointed out that Governor Mohammed’s determination in ensuring that Wikki Tourists remain in the topflight of the Nigerian league and the appointment of a seasoned coach, Usman Abd’Allah are some of the reasons the Bauchi FA is saluting the Governor.
He also pointed out that the Governor they appreciate the 100 per cent support the Governor is given to the Bauchi FA at all time including the go-ahead they have received to organise the Governor’s Cup which will take effect immediately after the Coronavirus pandemic has been defeated headlong.
“The Bauchi Football Association is the custodian of football in the 20 local government areas in the state. The governor is giving us 100 per cent support,” Pascal, who is also the Team Coordinator of the Super Eagles stated.
“He is ready to work with the FA. We are happy that he is supporting Wikki Tourists and we will like him to extend his hands to other clubs within the state. We are making preparations to start the Governor’s Cup. It will take off after the Coronavirus pandemic.
Pascal nonetheless charged the Bauchi Government to ensure that they assist other clubs that are operating in the state to ensure that they do not fold up and he as well tasks Governor Mohammed to lend more support to the Bauchi FA to ensure that there are well pronounced football structures in all the 20 local government areas of the state.
He also charged the Bauchi Government to work hand in hand with the Bauchi FA to ensure that grassroots football is given adequate cover that will ensure that they are always present at all organized competitions within and outside the state.
“We want to revive the structure of football whereby Bauchi State sportsmen and women will be able to attend every competition within and outside Bauchi.
“We the support of the governor. We want to get the structure of football in the 20 local government areas of the state and we will need the support of the Governor to be able to achieve that.
“We celebrate his one year in office and the so many progress that we have recorded in football in the state. We hope to work hand in hand to ensure that we promote grassroots football.”
The Bauchi FA Chairman thus celebrates the one year in office of Governor Bala Mohammed and wishes that the upcoming years will bring out more glad tidings to football in the state.
