Basketball (NSF): Edo set up Lagos clash as Kano battle Bayelsa in Women’s semi-finals

Edo State will face Lagos in the semi-finals of the women’s Basketball event of the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival this morning after they topped Group A with two wins www.dasportstainment247.com reports.

Edo made sure of the highly anticipated last four encounter after they defeated Borno 56-47 points to make it two successive victories. They had earlier beaten Bayelsa 53-52 points in another explosive group tie played on Wednesday.

Lagos finished Group B in second place after dislodging Nasarawa State 72-26 points in a game the side that emerged victorious qualify with both teams losing to Kano State.

The second semi final of the women’s basketball will take place by 4pm today between Kano State that ended the group stage with the maximum points and Bayelsa State that finished second to Edo State.

Kano women’s team have been devastating in the basketball event beating Lagos by 59-48 points and Nasarawa State by 74-49 points. They are the favourites for the final but they must prove that against the Restoration Ladies today.

In the men’s event, actions continue today as the search for the gold medalist intensifies. Edo will face Lagos State by 8am in their third game having won one and lost one.

Kwara State also have a date with Kano by 4 pm today.
