Almere City 2-1 FC Dordrecht: Ex- Flying Eagles invitee sparkles for Dutch club

Ex- Flying Eagles invitee, Hamdi Akujobi proved to be an impactful substitute for Dutch side, Almere City after his late assist helped his team to a 2-1 home win over Dordrecht in the Dutch’s Eerste Divisie last weekend.

The 22 year old defender was at his best as he supplied the pass that led to Anthony Limbombe’s 86th goal that gave the host the lead for the second time in the game and maximum three points after he was introduced in the 57th minute as Joey Jacobs’ replacement.

Akujobi who plays a right back was up and running throughout the game which culminated in the offensive defender scooping the Man of the Match Award in his 12th game of the season in which he has started 10 of the games.

Speaking after the match, the Nigerian defender expressed delight after producing such a performance while further adding his Club’s target, Almere City is to make a statement at the second division this campaign where they are currently fifth with 26 points from 15 games.

Almere City will travel to MVV Maastricht for a tie billed for Saturday with the resolve to extend their winning streak to four games.
