AFCON 2021: Ejidike, Kida, other Nigerians back Super Eagles’ title ambition

Ahead of the Super Eagles’ participation in the 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations slated to kick-off January 9th, 2022 in Cameroon, the team which landed Garoua, Northern Cameroon Wednesday evening has continued to receive support of the government and all football loving Nigerians.

Amongst the prominent Nigerians imploring the team to conquer Africa is Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike,JP, who in his goodwill message encouraged the team to soar high and bring back the cup to Nigeria.


Ejidike noted that with the government support and prayers of every Nigerian, the team would make the country proud.


On his part, president of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engr. Musa Kida, reiterated his age-long belief that Nigeria is blessed with youthful and abundant talents that can rule the world of sports.


Kida, who started his sports career as a goalkeeper in his early days, enthused that the Super Eagles are good enough to win the cup in Cameroun.


Kida praised the government for the support the team has so far received, going into the championship. Even as he gleefully added that basketball would continue to give football a run for its money, in view of its recent continental achievements.


In his own message, foremost grassroots football philanthropist, High Chief(Dr). Michael Ubogu, expressed confidence in the abilities of the team, as well as, the experience of the interim coach Austin Eguavoen to make Nigeria proud during the championship.


Nigeria who placed third at the AFCON 2019 held in Egypt, is set to begin its challenge for the cup on January 11th, against Egypt in Garoua, Cameroun.
