Enyimba’s head coach, Usman Abd’Allah has stated that he is relieved with the return to fitness of one of his strikers, Abdulrahman Bashir.
Bashir sustained a knee injury and only returned to training few days before the build-up to the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against Rahimo of Burkina Faso.
He was subsequently dropped from the list of 20 players that prosecuted the tie in Ouagadougou but Abd’Alah informed SportingLife that Bashir has fully recovered from the niggling injury and has regained the match fitness and sharpness that was missing like two weeks ago.
“I am really happy that Bashir is back to his best and he is available for selection now,” Abd’Allah informed SportingLife.
“He has shown in the training sessions that we have had after our return from Ouagadougou that he is truly back. He has scored some couple of goals for us too in the friendly games we have played.
“I am thrilled with the performance of the strikers in the first leg and I am sure that we won’t have a problem with scoring goals in the second leg at home. It was important the way we started the preparations for the return leg after we lost in Ouagadougou. The boys are doing their best to ensure that we do not leave any stone unturned.”
