Preparations are in top gear for the maiden edition of the Game On Afrika U19 Football Tournament, billed to kick off on October 4, 2025, across four cities in Nigeria and four in Ghana.
The competition, which seeks to “connect cultures and nurture future champions,” will provide a platform for budding footballers to showcase their talent, foster international friendship, and attract the attention of scouts and stakeholders across Africa’s football community.
Registration for interested clubs and academies is ongoing at www.gameonafrika.com, with a registration fee of ₦50,000 per club. The deadline for entries is September 30, 2025.
As part of preparations, officials of Game On Afrika Limited, led by Chief Executive Officer Prince Nnaemaeka Lawrence Nwankwo and Project Manager Jenny Anusiem, have embarked on courtesy visits to football associations across the country. Earlier engagements were held with the Imo State Football Association and the Abuja Football Association, before Thursday’s meeting with the Lagos State Football Association.
In Lagos, the delegation was received by Dotun Coker (Vice Chairman), Mrs. Vera Hyacinth (Secretary), and Dr. Abolore AbdulRahmon (Board Member). Discussions centered on strengthening institutional collaboration and creating opportunities for young players ahead of the tournament.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Nwankwo emphasized the vision behind the initiative, stating: “This tournament will redefine youth football development in West Africa. Our goal is to give young talents a platform to shine, connect cultures, and prepare the next generation of champions.”
The competition is expected to be a landmark event in grassroots football, bridging cultures while nurturing the next generation of African football stars.
