As part of its preparation for the 7th edition of Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, the LOC led by its Chairman Mr Promise Uwaeme took a tour of some of the proposed match venues for the preliminary stages of the competition.

Some of the proposed hosting facilities that were inspected include Boh Central Primary School, Government Comprehensive Secondary School Lalaipido and Government Day Secondary School Lalaipido and the Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium Kaltungo.

While Kaltungo and Boh Central Primary school have been hosts in the past, Lalaipido is being considered for the first time to host Shongom LGA Qualification Round.

During the inspection, the LOC Chairman assured the LGA Sub-Committee members and community leaders present during the inspection of the LOC’s commitment towards ensuring that these fields are put in good and playable conditions before the commencement of the tournament next month.

“As we all know, we always give priority to our pitches as the safety of players is paramount to us. We have to ensure that these pitches are in good conditions and safe for players. I urge you to please ensure that we get all necessary approvals from all the relevant authorities.”

While responding, both Shongom and Kaltungo LGA sub-committee leaders, Adamu Muazu (Raul) and Abdullahi Isah Awak (Coak Zaki) assured that they will work alongside their members to secure the required approvals of the pitches before the commencement of the tournament next month.

Recall that Billiri Township Stadium hosted the final round of the 5th and 6th edition.

Registration for the 7th edition has already commenced with teams from all four LGAs of Gombe South expected to register as they will jostle for mouth-watering prices.
