7th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup draw held in Kaltungo

The draw for the 7th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup was held today, 29th of October, 20222, at the Mawato Hotel Hall in Kaltungo of Gombe state amidst pomp and beauty.

In attendance were all the participating teams in these year’s edition and football stakeholders in and around Gombe state.

Chairman LOC, Promise Uwaeme in his address, reiterated the organizers’ commitment to ensuring that they host a competition that will meet global standards.

“As you are aware, we are committed to delivering a tournament that will compete favorably with other football tournaments globally in terms of fair play, transparency and set standards even with the limited resources within our disposal. So, on behalf of myself and the entire Local Organizing Committee, I assure reassure you of that commitment,” Uwaeme disclosed.

“This will simply be the best Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup ever witnessed! The greatest football tournament in the state and region at large.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commissioner for Education Gombe state, Hon. Batari Dauda Zambuk, represented by Audu Maina, Director School Sports, Min. of Education, Gombe state, Commended the founders, initiators and organizers of the competition as they have been able to contribute to the uplifting of the level of football in Gombe South.

He expressed delight that the competition has also been able to take a lot of youths off the streets, by engaging them in playing football and preparing almost all year round.

He welcomed all and wished them the best and urged the teams involved and encouraged them to play to the rules of the competition.

In his closing remarks, Gombe State FA Chairman, Yakubu Sarma, who was represented by Shuaibu Simon, Member Gombe FA, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged them to keep improving and doing more.

He urged the participating teams, officials and all involved to play by the rules of the competition as all attention moves to Gombe South.

The 7th Edition of Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, will have 75 teams participating with the preliminary rounds taking place in Biliri, Balanga, Shongom, and Kaltungo.

The draws was hosted by the delectable Rhairom Zamora and Thomas Bello from Jos and Abuja.

Guests were entertained by spoken words by Janet Emmanuel and Dynamic Dancers from Gombe.
