Oyo State’s Taekwondo Male Individual Poomsae gold medallist, Usman Harun has stated that his strive to continue to serve as inspiration to other budding athletes who look up to him made him to go extra mile for the medal at the ongoing 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State.

Harun told our correspondent that he is thrilled to win the gold medal and that he would continue to give his best to ensure he makes his students happy.

“It feels great and nice that I won the gold medal because I had invested a lot of time in preparing for the championship and winning a gold medal is just a thing of joy,” Harun told our correspondent.

“I have students who I am also inspiring to be the best. I take it upon myself to be at my best in order for them to continue looking up to me.

“My drive is beyond my personal desire because I know there is a lot of weight on my shoulders. I have a lot to prove.”

Our correspondent reports that Richard Oyeneasu (Delta) won the silver medal while the duo of Hafeez Salwawudeen (Bayelsa) – and Agada Elijah (Nasarawa) both won bronze medal each in the Male Individual Poomsae.
