…..Kano Pillars Coach talks tough
Nigeria Customs Service have recorded their second win in the men’s category at the ongoing final phase of the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball League in Abuja.
Nigeria beat COAS Spikers 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-18) at the indoor sports hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.
Coach of Nigeria Custom Service (NSC) volleyball team, Jonah Adamu stated that his team is targeting a treble in the men’s category of the Nigeria Volleyball League.
Adamu said his happy that they won their second game adding that they received all the necessary support from the management and the secretary of sports.
“Victory is always sweet we thank God we won, the encouragement we received from the management, the secretary it is really encouraging us to give our best.
“My players are determined to win all their game, we won two games now and we have seven more matches to go.
“We don’t see any team as a thread we win all our best in our remaining games. Our target is nothing else than to lift the trophy on the last day of the championship,” he said.
Meanwhile the head coach of Kano Pillars, Musa Babamusa said his dream of lifting this season’s title is still intact.
Musa revealed this after his team beat Sunshine Spikers 3-1 (20-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-17) to record their first win at the second phase.
Babamusa said, “Two years ago, Kano Pillars VC finished third place after a very tough season in Ilorin. Last year, we came close but placed second at the 2020 Super Cup held in Ilorin. This time, the title is following my team to the ancient city of Kano by the grace of God.”
