Former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has expressed his regrets at the inability of the top eggheads of the English Premier League side, Arsenal to sell some shares in the club to him and his consortiums when they submitted a bid and firm interest in the past.

The African Pillar of Sports and Forbes rated Billionaire last year indicated an interest in buying the English Premier League club, Arsenal Football Club with a bid of 35% stake.

But the Senator representing Abia North in the upper chamber informed journalists on the renowned WhatsApp platform, Nigerian Sports Mouthpiece (NSM) Rebranded that he was serious about the purchase of Arsenal having got the backing of a household bank in the United States to assist in the buying of the stake.

“Honestly I am not an Arsenal fan. I wanted to use Arsenal to make money because it is business,” Uzor Kalu told journalists in an interview monitored by www.dasportstainment247.com on NSM Rebranded.

“I put a bid before and asked them to sell the club, they were not serious in selling the club. I pray that they will listen to the voice of nature. I sent them a bid and a firm interest but they only replied that they would get back to me.

“We were serious. We were backed up by one of the biggest banks in the United States of America to do the bid.”
