Head coach, NSCDC Women’s Volleyball team, Dennis Eric has stressed that his team continued to affirm their superiority over Nigeria Customs Service because they have kept to their game plan and have decided not to underrate any of their opponents including Nigeria Customs.

“We planned for the match and it worked out well for us. Even though in the league we beat the Customs team but we have never underrated them because we always respect them,” Eric told our correspondent.

“They are always full of experience players. It was the same tactics that we used to beat them in the league last year was what we used to harm them today again. We chose a good service and a good block and it favoured us in today’s game.

“We had just a week of training because we just came out of the Covid-19 then and we lost about seven months without training. I had to depend on my players’ experience. It wasn’t about the physical condition or fitness. It was just about the experience and it was this that helped us in the game with Customs.”

NSCDC defeated Nigeria Customs 3-1 to retain the title they won last year by 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22 in the 2020 Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup women’s final held at the Indoor Sports Hall, University of Ilorin on Wednesday.

In similar vein, the head coach of Nigeria Customs Service Men’s Volleyball team, Eric Kefas has dedicated their Super Cup victory to Nigeria Customs Service Comptroller General, Colonel Ahmed Ali Ibrahim for his motivation to the team.

“We came to the championship as 2018-19 league champions and today we are going back as Super Cup Champions 2020 all thanks to the management and leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service led by Colonel Ahmed Ali Ibrahim the Comptroller General for supporting us and given us words of encouragement for us to perform this feat,” Kefas said.

“I trust my boys and I know their abilities and capabilities. We were determined and we knew God will give us victory.”

Nigeria Customs Service Men’s team thrashed Kano Pillars 3-0 in the Wednesday night final in Ilorin.
