The Nationwide League One Division One playoff is gathering momentum across Nigeria and in Imo State where we have two centres at Okigwe and Ngor Okpala the concluding fixtures of the group stage would be decided on Wednesday.

Matchday four fixtures were played on Monday at the Ngor Okpala Centre and the battle to the sole berth to the playoffs final slated for March 27th at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri will go down to the wire and www.dasportstainment247.com takes us through the three games played at the Onwubiko International Stadium, Ngor Okpala on Monday.

Enyimba Feeders 1-1 Rangers Feeders

The People’s Elephant Feeders came into the fixture knowing a win over hapless Junior Flying Antelopes wouldd put them in a vantage spot to wrestle the ticket from favourites Udala FC and they shot into the lead in the 35th minute through their leading scorer, Emmanuel Godwin who notched his fourth goal of the playoffs.

Rangers Feeders had the chance to equalise in the first half when they were awarded a penalty kick but the spot-kick taker spurned the chance. But the referee ordered a retake after he adjudged that Enyimba Goalkeeper, Chibuike Sebastine left the goal line before the penalty kick was taken. The spot-kick was still lost the second time as the goalkeeper, Sebastine guessed right again to deny Rangers Feeder the equaliser.

The centre referee awarded another questionable spot kick in the 70th minute which Kalu Chukwube scored as the ball squirmed in through the armpit of the Enyimba Feeders’ goalkeeper.

Enyimba Feeders are second in the zone with seven points from four games and they have a must win fixture against Lamray FC on Wednesday while Rangers Feeders managed to earn their first point of the playoffs in the game. They have a tough tie with Udala FC also on Wednesday.

Goddosky International FC 1-1 Lamray United FC

Shedrack Charles 72′ || Chidera Pius 53′

Goddosky FC were pinned 1-0 by Udala FC in the last game and needed all points against Lamray FC to stand any chance. Lamray FC are equally desperate for a win to brighten their chances but both settled for another draw.

Shedrack Charles ensured spoils would be shared after he equalised for Goddosky FC in the 72nd minute through a fine finish. Charles with his fifth goal of the playoffs after he dribbled Lamray FC goalkeeper. Lamray FC had shot ahead in the game in the 53rd minute through Chidera Pius who scored his third of the playoffs.

Lamray FC are still unbeaten but are in the third spot with six points from four games having won only a game and drawing the other three. They face Enyimba Feeders in a must-win tie on Wednesday while Goddosky FC will play for pride against Adoration FC.

Udala FC 0-0 Adoration FC

It was the peak of the games played at the Ngor Okpala Centre and surely lived up to expectations as both teams battled to a goalless draw on Monday.

Udala FC could have sealed the ticket to the final with a game to spare had they beaten Adoration FC while the Reverend Father Mbaka Boys would have moved a step closer to their aspirations had they nicked the maximum points also. It was a game played at a fast pace from the beginning to the end with no clear-cut chances. A draw was inevitable.

Udala FC are still on top with eight points from four games and will pick the zone’s ticket with the three points against Rangers Feeders but if they fail to win the game, The ticket may go to either Enyimba Feeders (currently with seven points), Lamray FC (currently with six points) or Adoration FC (currently with five points) in that order depending on the results posted on Wednesday.
