The head coach of A& A FC of Uyo Emmanuel Ntuk has thumbed up the performance of his young players who were resilient despite losing 2-1 to Enyimba in the ongoing Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament in Aba.

A&A FC caused a storm in the tournament when they won their opening two games including a 2-0 win over National League side, Abia Comets but Ntuk in a chat with the Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament Media affirmed that he was glad that he has friendly matches to prepare his wards.

He said he was satisfied with the performance of his boys even though they lost to Enyimba on Wednesday.

“We played against bigger team and so we used our technique to contain them. We mapped out our strategy and I thank God we ended up losing 2-1,” Ntuk told Governor Ikpeazu Tournament Media.

“It is not a bad result judging by the fact that we are an academy team. This is a preseason tournament and we have to give the players equal opportunities to play. They are all good.

“My boys tried because they are taking part in the tournament of this magnitude for the first time and they have tried their best.”

Sadiq Adamu put Enyimba in the ascendancy in the 15th minute before Cyril Olisema doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 21st minute but A&A FC ensured a tense finish when they reduced the goals deficit through Emmanuel Israel in the 79th minute.

A&A FC are second in Group A with six points from four games but they will need Enyimba to beat Abia Comets for them to pick a semi final ticket.
