COVID-19 PALLIATIVES: Vandrezzer owner, Joe Udofia, Fanendo Adi lift sports journalists with N700,000

The owner of Nigeria National League side, Vandrezzer FC, Joe Udofia has brought smiles to the faces of sports journalists on foremost Whatsapp platform, Nigerian Sports Mouthpiece (NSM) with a donation of half a million naira to help them cushion the effect of Coronavirus pandemic that has dealt a big blow on the world economy.

Coronavirus cases continue to be on the increase in Nigeria with 389 new reported cases making it 8733 cases reported with 254 deaths and 2501 discharged as at Wednesday night in the report posted by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Journalists have been one of the professions hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic with so many either losing their jobs or placed on ridiculous wages because of their employers’ inability to break even as a result of the pandemic.

But the owner of Vandrezzer FC a club campaigning in the lower league of the Nigerian league deemed it fit to bring succour to sports journalists and he paid his humble donation to the Super Admin of NSM, Adewale Ajayi on Thursday afternoon.

Vandrezzer have been making waves under the tutelage of Brazillian head coach, Rafael Everton and just recently the Ikot Ekpene Stadium has been wearing a new look due to the ingenuity of the owner of the club, Joe Udofia.

The club presence on social media is awesome and their branding has become the talk of the town in Nigeria and even outside it.

It was a double celebration for members of the NSM Whatsapp platform as Columbus Crew SC striker, Fandendo Adi also turned in the pledge he made to the social media platform on Wednesday after a soul-searching interview session.

Adi paid N200,0000 into the purse of NSM as a furtherance of the N10,000,000 worth of 2,000 bags of rice to the people of Benue State.

“ I and my family are very honoured and privileged to be able to give back to our people. Thank God for his many blessings, I am happy to say we just donated 2000 bags of rice worth 10 million naira to the Benue State Government for the vulnerable among us,” Adi told www.dasportstainment247.com.

“It is my desire and hopes that this food item gets to the people because that will be my absolute joy. Thank you His Excellency Deputy Governor Engr B Abounu for receiving this donation on behalf of the state. Thank you, my daddy, Chris Adi, Daddy Prof. M. Jibo, and Mummy D. Jibo, Mr T Anyo and m wonderful Sister Mrs M. Anyo and my brother Hemen for all the effort in making this day fruitful.”
