Niger Tornadoes chairman, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu has thumbed up the personal interests shown to the club by the State Government led by His Excellency Abubakar Sani Bello which has helped to ensure they are on the cusp of a return to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Tornadoes are on top of Group A of the NNL Super 8 playoffs with four points from two games and will need at least a point against Gombe United to seal a return to the NPFL for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

As they face Gombe United today in the last group game, Aliyu charged the players to go all out and finish off the job they have started and secure a place among the topflight teams.

The experienced administrator thumbed up the performance of his players and the professionalism of the technical crew while also alluding the impressive performance to the hard work and patience of the players and coaches he also stated that the support from the State Government remains the propeller for all the club’s giant strides.

“I want to say a big thank you to the Governor, His Excellency Abubakar Sani Bello for his immense support to the team,” Aliyu told SportingLife.

“I also want to appreciate the players, technical crew and others for their steadfastness and hard work that has brought us to this stage. Success is the product of hard work, perseverance, patience and other ingredients.

“As for Tornadoes, we have been hugely indebted to the personal interest of the state governor, His Excellency, Abubakar Sani Bello. We have maintained a standard and enhanced welfare package for the team and the technical crew has done a very good job in assembling the right crop of players who have stood the test of time. We are praying that tomorrow, by the special grace of God we will get the promotion ticket to the premier league.

“We have the team that can beat any team in the Super 8 but football is not mathematics. It is science and you have to try your best to achieve your set objectives. We are hoping that we can get it.”
